SHEPHERD VOLLEYBALL DOWNED TWICE AT UC TOURNAMENT

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the University of Charleston Tournament on Saturday. The Rams dropped a 19-30, 17-30, 26-30 decision to #22-ranked Rockhurst and a 10-30, 25-30, 17-30 decision to Carson-Newman.

Junior Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton) had 11 kills and 10 digs against Rockhurst. Junior Lindsey Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire) added 13 digs, while sophomore Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior) recorded 26 assists.

Darnley recorded eight kills and six digs to lead the Rams against Carson-Newman. Smith added seven digs, while Cramer had 23 assists.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Salem International for a 7:00 p.m. conference matchup.
