SHEPHERD VOLLEYBALL DROPS PAIR AT UC TOURNAMENT

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the University of Charleston Tournament on Friday. The Rams dropped a 31-33, 21-30, 20-30 decision to Northern Kentucky and fell to Wayne State (MI) in three games (28-30, 25-30, 19-30).

Junior Laura Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) had 13 kills to lead the Rams against Northern Kentucky. Junior Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton) and senior Beth Schaible (Winchester, VA/James Wood) each recorded 10 kills. Darnley added a team-high 16 digs, while junior Lindsey Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire) added 13. Sophomore Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior) recorded 40 assists.

Darnley recorded 14 kills and 11 digs to lead the Rams against Wayne State. Junior Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) added 11 digs, while Schaible and Cramer each had 10. Cramer also added 31 assists.

The Rams return to action on Saturday in final day tournament action.
