SHEPHERD DROP TWO IN FIRST DAY ACTION AT CHARLESTON

CHARLESTON, WV -- Shepherd dropped a pair of matches in first round action at the University of Charleston Volleyball Tournament on Friday. Lenoir-Rhyne handed the Rams a 3-0 (30-21, 30-24, 30-27) defeat and Lees-McRae also blanked the Rams by a 3-0 (30-25, 30-19, 30-27) score.

Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) recorded nine kills and 12 digs to lead the Rams against Lenoir-Rhyne. Sophomore defensive specialist Lindsay Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added 14 digs.

Hilll had 11 kills and nine digs against Lees-McRae. Senior setter Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/North Hagerstown HS) contributed 31 assists and nine digs. Junior middle hitter Aubrey Pfau (Myersville, MD/Middletown HS) and freshman outside hitter Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior HS) each added six kills.

Shepherd falls to 2-8. The Rams return to action on Saturday for second day action of the University of Charleston Tournament.
