Rams in action against Salem International.

SHEPHERD SWEEPS SALEM INTERNATIONAL

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University swept Salem International University, 30-27, 30-24, 30-22, in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Wednesday night.

Junior middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) had 10 kills to lead the Rams. Freshman Kori Ford (Fredericksburg, VA/Chancellor HS) and junior outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) each had nine digs. Darnley just missed out on a double-double as she also added nine kills. Junior defensive specialist Lindsey Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added eight digs.

Shepherd improves to 11-16 overall, 8-6 in WVIAC action, while Salem International falls to 7-10, 7-9. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 11:00 a.m. contest.
