SHEPHERD SWEEPS SALEM INTERNATIONAL SALEM, W.Va. --Shepherd College swept Salem International, 3-0, in WVIAC volleyball action on Tuesday night at Salem. The Rams earned a 30-17, 30-20, 30-27 victory. The Rams were led by Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) with 15 kills and 12 digs. Beth Schaible (Winchester, VA/James Wood) added eight kills and 10 digs, while Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) recorded six kills and a team-high 22 digs. Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/North Hagerstown HS) contributed 44 assists and nine digs. Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy)had eight kills, Aubrey Pfau (Middletown, MD/ Middletown HS) had seven, and Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley) chipped in with six. Michelle Yarbrough had 12 kills and 11 assists to pace Salem International. Shepherd improves to 5-5 overall, 3-0 in conference action. Salem falls to 1-2, 1-2. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Ohio Valley for a 7:00 p.m. contest. |
