MOUNT OLIVE, NC -- The Shepherd College volleyball team edged Shaw University, 30-25, 23-30, 30-20, 24-30, 15-13, in volleyball action at the Mount Olive Tournament.
Junior outside hitter Kim Pirisino (John Carroll/Edgewood, MD) had 15 kills and 25 digs, while junior outside hitter Judy Whims (Thomas Johnson (FCC)/Frederick, MD) added 16 kills and 12 digs.
Freshman setter Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Maugansville, MD) added 51 assists and 14 digs. Freshman middle blocker Shannon Shenberger (Warwick/Lititz, PA) recorded 12 kills and 13 digs, while junior middle blocker Valerie Chaney (Frankfort/Fort Ashby, WV) added 13 kills and four blocks.
