SHEPHERD GOES 1-1 IN FINAL ROUND OF RAM RUMBLE TOURNAMENT

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd College volleyball team went 1-1 in final round action of the Ram Rumble Tournament on Sunday at the Butcher Athletic Center. The Rams began the day by dropping a 21-30, 15-30, 14-30 decision to 14th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney, then rallied in the afternoon for a 30-27, 31-33, 19-30, 30-27, 15-10 victory over Lynn University.

Judy Whims (Thomas Johnson (FCC)/Frederick, MD), an All-Tournament selection, led the Rams against the Lopers with 16 digs and five kills.

Whims added 12 kills 18 digs, and five blocks in the hard-fought win over Lynn. Kim Pirisino (John Carroll/Edgewood, MD) (11 kills, 16 digs), Danielle Munson (Williamsport/Willianmsport, MD) (12 kills, 12 digs), Amber Balmer (Ephrata/Ephrata, PA) (11 kills, 17 digs), and Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Maugansville, MD) (54 assists, 10 digs) also added impressive performances.

The Rams (3-2) will return to action on Wednesday when they host Gettysburg at 7:00 p.m.
