SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. --The Shepherd College volleyball team went 1-1 in first day action of the Ram Rumble at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday.
Shepherd handed Davis & Elkins 30-11, 30-15, 30-16 loss in its opening match.
The Rams were led by Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) with 13 kills and 11 digs. Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) added nine kills and nine digs, while Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/North Hagerstown HS) recorded 33 assists and seven digs.
Midwestern State (TX) handed Shepherd a 30-25, 30-23, 30-16 loss in the second match.
Hill (15), Darnley (14) and Gen Wilson (Hyattsville, MD/Elizabeth Seton HS) (12) each recorded double figure digs for the Rams. Aubrey Pfau (Middletown, MD/Middletown HS) added a team-best eight kills.
Shepherd will face North Carolina Central at 10:30 a.m. and Mercyhurst at 5:00 p.m. in final day action of the Ram Rumble on Sunday.
