SHEPHERD DROPS PAIR AT RAM RUMBLE TOURNAMENT SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches in first day action of the Ram Rumble Tournament at the Butcher Athletic Center on Friday. Shepherd pushed Le Moyne to five games in the opener before dropping a 3-2 (30-21, 27-30, 17-30, 31-29, 11-15) decision to the Dolphins. Shepherd dropped a 3-1 contest (33-31, 24-30, 23-30, 27-30) to Mercyhurst in the nightcap. Senior right side Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) and freshman outside hitter Ashlee Allen (Severna Park, MD/ Severna Park) each had 12 kills to pace the Rams against Le Moyne. Junior outside hitter Kiira Cerasi (Santa Barbara, CA/Bishop Diego Garcia) registered 10 kills and four aces to lead Shepherd against Mercyhurst. Shepherd opens the season at 0-2. The Rams return to action on Sunday for final day tournament action when they take on Shippensburg at 11 a.m. and Millersville at 8 p.m. |
