SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd College defeated Ohio Valley, 30-16, 30-19, 27-30, 30-21 in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Monday night.
Junior outside hitter Judy Whims (Thomas Johnson (FCC)/Frederick, MD) had 17 kills and nine digs to lead the Rams. Junior middle blocker Valerie Chaney (Frankfort/Fort Ashby, WV) also had 17 kills, while junior outside hitter Kim Pirisino (John Carroll/Edgewood, MD) added 10 kills and a team-high 19 digs. Freshman setter Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Maugansville, MD) recorded 55 assists and 11 digs. Freshman middle blocker Shannon Shenberger (Warwick/Lititz, PA) chipped in with 11 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Stacy Pittinger (South Carroll/Westminster, MD) added 10 digs.
Shepherd improves to 12-3, 3-0 in WVIAC play.
The Rams return to action tomorrow when they host Wheeling Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. in a key WVIAC matchup.
