SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd College volleyball team dropped a 30-21, 30-13, 30-23 decision to Mount Vernon Nazarene in volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center. It was the season opener for both teams.
Amber Balmer (Ephrata /Ephrata, PA) recorded 11 kills and 11 digs to lead the Rams. Gen Wilson (Elizabeth Seton/Hyattsville, MD) and Judy Whims (Thomas Johnson/Frederick, MD) each added eight digs, while Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Hagerstown, MD) added 21 assists.
Shepherd falls to 0-1, while the Lady Cougars improve to 1-0.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host the 4th Annual Ram Rumble at 8:30 a.m. at the Butcher Athletic Center. Other teams participating include Gettysburg, Kutztown, Shippensburg, and UDC.
