SHEPHERD DROP TWO IN FIRST ROUND ACTION AT ASHLAND

ASHLAND, OH -- Shepherd dropped a pair of matches in first round action at the Ashland University Volleyball Tournament on Friday. Indiana (PA) handed the Rams a 3-0 (28-30, 20-30, 24-30) loss, while Clarion took a 3-1 (30-26, 24-30, 24-30, 21-30) decision.

Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) recorded 11 kills and 17 digs to lead the Rams against IUP. Senior outside hitter Megan Bowman (Hagerstown, MD/Williamsport HS) added five kills and a team-high 20 digs, while senior setter Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/North Hagerstown HS) recorded 39 assists and 15 digs. Sophomore middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) added 10 kills and five blocks.

Senior middle hitter Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) had a team-best 14 kills against Clarion. Junior outside hitter Beth Schaible (Winchester, VA/James Wood HS) added a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Hill had 10 kills and 20 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) also notched 20 digs.
