SHEPHERD VOLLEYBALL SPLITS FINAL MATCHES AT BRYANT

SMITHFIELD, RI -- The Shepherd University volleyball team split its final pair of matches at the Bryant College Invitational. Shepherd earned a 3-2 (30-26, 30-26, 19-30, 27-30, 17-15) win over East Stroudsburg late Friday night before dropping a 3-0 (19-31, 25-30, 24-30) to host Bryant on Saturday.

Senior right side Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) had 21 kills to pace the Rams in the win over East Stroudsburg. Junior outside hitter Kiira Cerasi (Santa Barbara, CA/Bishop Diego Garcia) added 13 kills and 17 digs, while senior libero Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) added 13 digs and three aces.

Hill had 13 digs in the loss to Bryant. Freshman setter Maggie Hayden (Virginia Beach, VA/Kellam) recorded 32 assists, while freshman middle hitter Emily McCoy (Berkeley Springs, WV/ Berkeley Springs) had six kills and five blocks.

Cerasi was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Shepherd moves to 1-10 on the year. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Davis & Elkins for a 7 p.m. conference match.
