SHEPHERD DOWNS BOWIE STATE

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd College earned a 30-18, 30-24, 30-14 sweep over Bowie State in volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Friday night.

The Rams were led by junior outside hitter Amber Balmer (Ephrata/Ephrata, PA) with 10 kills and 17 digs and junior outside hitter Kim Pirisino (John Carroll/Edgewood, MD) with 10 kills and 16 digs. Junior middle blocker Valerie Chaney (Frankfort/Fort Ashby, WV) added 10 kills, and sophomore setter/defensive specialist Gen Wilson (Elizabeth Seton/Hyattsville, MD) recorded a team-high six service aces. Freshman setter Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Maugansville, MD) added 37 assists and five aces.

Shepherd improves its overall record to 15-7.

The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Fairmont State for a 7:00 p.m. match.
