SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd College improved to 6-1 on the year with a 30-12, 30-22, 30-16 win over Bowie State in volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center. The match was a makeup for an earlier scheduled match at Bowie State.
Junior outside hitter Kim Pirisino (John Carroll/Edgewood, MD) recorded a triple-double with 15 kills, 11 blocks, and 10 digs to lead the Rams. Judy Whims (Thomas Johnson (FCC)/Frederick, MD) added 10 kills and 13 blocks, while Amber Balmer (Ephrata/Ephrata, PA) had nine kills and 15 digs. Setter Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Hagerstown, MD) added 37 assists.
The Rams, who have won six straight matches after dropping the season opener, will host West Virginia Wesleyan in a key WVIAC matchup on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Butcher Athletic Center.
