ALDERSON-BROADDUS DOWNS SHEPHERD SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. -- Alderson-Broaddus eliminated Shepherd College with a 30-23, 31-29, 31-29 win over the Rams in quarterfinal action of the WVIAC Volleyball Tournament action in Summersville on Friday. Shepherd held a 28-24 lead in game two before falling. The Rams also led 29-28 in the third and deciding game. Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) had 12 kills to lead the Rams. Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) added 10 kills and two blocks, while Beth Schaible (Winchester, VA./James Wood HS) had seven kills and two blocks. Latonia Petersheim had 19 kills to lead the Battlers. Shepherd ends it season with an 18-14 mark. Alderson-Broaddus advances to face West Virginia Wesleyan in the semifinals on Saturday. |
