SHEPHERD KNOCKS OFF ALDERSON-BROADDUS

PHILIPPI, W. Va. -- Shepherd University knocked off host Alderson-Broaddus in four games in WVIAC volleyball action on Monday night. The Rams handed the Battlers a 30-23, 21-30, 30-24, 30-26 setback.

The Rams had several outstanding individual performances in the contest and overcame the loss of sophomore setter Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior HS) to an ankle injury in the second game.

Freshman middle blocker/outside hitter Kori Ford (Fredericksburg, VA/Chancellor HS) posted a double-double with 12 kills and 12 assists. She recorded an impressive .545 attack percentage while adding four blocks and a pair of aces. Senior Beth Schaible (Winchester, VA/ James Wood HS) added a double-double of her own with 15 assists and 11 digs. She also added eight kills. Junior outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) had a team-high 18 digs to go along with nine kills, while junior middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) added nine kills and five blocks.

Shepherd improves to 6-12, overall, 4-2 in conference play, while Alderson-Broaddus drops to 2-10, 1-4. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Fairmont State for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
