SHEPHERD FALLS TO A-B

Shepherd had its largest home crowd of the year against Alderson-Broaddus.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd College dropped a 3-1 match to Alderson-Broaddus in WVIAC volleyball action on Wednesday night. The Battlers snapped Shepherd's record-setting 12-match winning streak with a 33-35, 30-28, 30-28, 30-17 triumph over the Rams.

The Rams were led by Kim Pirisino (John Carroll/Edgewood, MD) and Judy Whims (Thomas Johnson (FCC)/Frederick, MD). Pirisino had 13 kills and a team-high 16 digs, while Whims had a team-high 17 kills and 11 digs. Danielle Munson (Williamsport/Williamsport, MD) added 15 kills, 11 digs, and three aces, and Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Maugansville, MD) chipped in with 38 assists.

Shepherd falls to 19-6, 5-1 in conference play, while A-B improves to 19-7, 7-0.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Ohio Valley for a 7:00 p.m. match.
