2001-02: Appeared in 19 games. Averaged 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds after transferring to the program from the University of Maryland. Was 9-of-11 (.818) from the charity stripe. Added five assists, four blocks, and three steals. Scored a career-high 10 points against Salem International. Grabbed a career-high four rebounds against both WVU-Tech and Salem International.
Prior to SC: Redshirted at University of Maryland. Was a four-year letterwinner for legendary coach Morgan Wootten at DeMatha High School. As team co-captain, Slaninka helped lead DeMatha to a consensus No. 9 national ranking as a senior while coming off the bench.
Personal: Born 10-26-81. The son of Rick and Mary Slaninka. A 2000 graduate of DeMatha High School, Slaninka is majoring in sports management.
