SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Senior running back Dalevon Smith (Dos Palos (Merced JC)/Beaverton, OR) rushed 27 times for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Shepherd to a 34-10 win over St. Joseph's in football action at Ram Stadium.

Shepherd moved out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter on a 15-yard scoring run by Smith and a three-yard plunge by sophomore running back Travis Lynch (Frankfort/ Ridgeley, WV).

The Pumas got on the board late in the first quarter on a 25-yard field goal from Adam Wyman.

The Rams moved out to a 34-3 halftime advantage with second quarter touchdowns from Smith, James Rooths (Carver/Baltimore, MD) on an interception, and a Joel Gordon (Waynesboro/Waynesboro, VA) to Jason Dirting (Martinsburg/Martinsburg, WV) 16-yard scoring pass.

Rooths, an All-American return specialist, had two interceptions on the day.

St. Joseph's added the game's final score in the fourth quarter on a 22-yard fumble recovery by James Perkins.

Shepherd improves to 2-0, while St. Joseph's falls to 0-3. The Rams will travel to face East Stroudsburg next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. game.
