ZAPPACOSTA NAMED WVIAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

PRINCETON, WV --Freshman P-3B Mia Zappacosta (Owings Mills, MD/ McDonogh HS) of the Shepherd College softball team was named WVIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week by the league office for March 29-April 4.

Zappacosta struck out eight hitters in a non-conference win over Columbia Union. She allowed five hits and walked one as the she cruised to a 10-1 complete game victory. She also contributed three hits in six at-bats during Shepherd's doubleheader sweep.
