 ZAPPACOSTA EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV--Freshman third baseman/pitcher Mia Zappacosta (Owings Mills, MD/McDonogh HS) of the Shepherd University softball team was named to the WVIAC All-Tournament Team for her standout play. Zappacosta, a First Team All-WVIAC choice, set new Shepherd single season marks for hits (67) and doubles (17). She batted .455 in tournament play and also added a home run and a stolen base. She tossed a two-hit, complete game victory with seven strikeouts in a 7-1 win over Davis & Elkins. |
