SHEPHERD SPLITS WITH SENATORS
ELKINS, W. Va. -- Shepherd College split with Davis & Elkins in WVIAC softball action on Thursday. The Rams took the opener with a 2-1 victory, while the Senators rallied for a 4-3 win in the nightcap.
Shepherd starter Megan Hall (Randolph-Henry/Keysville, VA) went the distance scattering seven hits to pick up her third win of the year. Leslie Kennington suffered the loss for Davis & Elkins. Jennifer Canby (Martinsburg (Wheeling Jesuit)/Martinsburg, WV) walked three times and scored both Shepherd runs. Carrie Egress tossed a four-hitter in the nightcap to give the Senators a split. Karen Burnette (Tabb/Yorktown, VA) took the loss for the Rams. Mara Kafton (Martinsburg/Martinsburg, WV) led the Rams with a pair of singles. The Rams stranded 10 baserunners in each game. Shepherd moves to 7-18, 5-15 in WVIAC play. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to West Liberty for a noon doubleheader.Game One
