SHEPHERD SWEEPS COLUMBIA UNION TAKOMA PARK, MD--Shepherd College swept Columbia Union in softball action at Columbia Union on Tuesday evening. The Rams earned a 9-1 win in game one and edged the Pioneers, 4-3, in the nightcap. Mia Zappacosta (Owings Mills, MD/McDonogh HS) improved to 4-3 on the season with a win in game one, while Shannon Leighty (Carneys Point, NJ/Penns Grove HS) evened her record at 1-1 with a victory in the nightcap. No other game details were available. Shepherd improves to 9-12 on the year. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Ohio Valley for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader. |
