The Second Annual Roger Parker Classic

Open Tennis Tournament

September 2 ­ 5, 2005 (Labor Day Weekend)

WHERE: Jefferson High School. One mile south of Duffields, West Virginia on Flowing Springs Road.

SANCTION: This is a USTA sanctioned tournament in the Mid-Atlantic Section.

SURFACE: Hard court.

FORMAT: Best 2 of 3 sets, 12-point tiebreaker at 6-6. Single elimination. Players may compete in up to three events.

ENTRY FEE: $18 singles, $24 per doubles team

ENTRY DEADLINE: August 30th at midnight.

SCHEDULE: Singles events will begin Friday evening and Saturday morning. Doubles and mixed will begin Saturday afternoon and evening. Some doubles events may begin Sunday.

COACH ROGER PARKER began and led the Shepherd College Rams tennis teams for a quarter century before retiring in 1994. Parker¹s men¹s and women¹s teams combined to win five conference titles during his tenure. He also holds the record for the most wins in Shepherd Tennis history. Proceeds from this tournament, named in Coach Parker¹s honor, will go to the Shepherd University tennis team scholarship fund. Any donation in addition to the entry fee will be gratefully appreciated.
