2002-03: Returning starter at point guard. Lends game experience and leadership to a young team.

2001-02: Started in all 27 games for the Rams. Averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds. Led the team and was among the conference leaders in assists with a 4.8 average. Also paced the team in steals with 61. Scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 65-52 win over Columbia Union. Grabbed a career-high nine rebounds against WVIAC champion West Virginia Wesleyan.

2000-01: Appeared in 26 games with eight starts. Averaged 5.0 points and 3.2 rebounds. Led team in assists with 85 for a 3.2 average. Also topped the team in steals with 54. Drove the length of the floor for the winning basket in a 79-78 win over UDC. Had eight points, 11 assists, five rebounds, and three steals in an 85-80 win over Alderson-Broaddus.

1999-2000: Appeared in 27 games with two starts. Averaged 3.4 points and 2.1 rebounds. A defensive standout, he recorded 43 steals on the year. Had a career-high 13 points in a win over Glenville. Grabbed a career-high five rebounds against Central Washington. Was a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line in a win over WV Wesleyan.

Prior to SC: Standout at Archbishop Carroll High School. Hails from the same high school as former Rams Antar Parkman and Ben Stephens.

Personal: Born 5-8-80. The son of Sandra Washington. A 1999 graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School, Newsome is majoring in computer information science.
