SHEPHERD TO HOST ROGER PARKER CLASSIC TENNIS TOURNAMENT SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- The public is cordially invited to play in the 2006 Roger Parker Classic Tennis Tournament on Sept. 1-4. A number of categories are offered, including Men's and Women's Open Singles and Doubles; Mixed Open Doubles; Father/Son, Mother/Daughter, Father/Daughter, and Mother/Son Doubles; 35 and over Men's and Women's Singles; and 50 and Over Men's and Women's Singles and Doubles. The deadline for entry is August 29th. The tournament will take place at Jefferson High School and at Shepherd University. To enter the tournament go to the link below for more information: The tournament is named for Coach Roger Parker, who founded the Shepherd tennis team in 1969 and coached both the men's and women's teams for two decades. Parker's teams won five West Virginia Conference team championships. |
