SHEPHERD MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN, 1-0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Freshman forward Gregory Khan (Mt. Pleasant, Tobago/Bertille St. Clair) scored the game's only goal to lead Shepherd University a 1-0 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.

Khan's goal came at the 26:00 mark on assists from sophomore midfielders Nahome Mazengia (Silver Spring, MD/Einstein) and Guilherme Fonseca (Guaraja, Brazil/Objetivo School).

Sophomore Baboucarr Njie (Banjul, The Gambia/Marina International School) recorded three saves in a shutout effort in goal for the Rams. George Howley had three saves for the Bobcats.

Shepherd improves to 2-2-1, 1-0-0 in conference play, while West Virginia Wesleyan drops to 3-4-0, 1-1-0. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Alderson-Broaddus for a 4 p.m. contest.
