SHEPHERD MEN'S SOCCER TIES WHEELING JESUIT WHEELING, W.Va. - Shepherd University and Wheeling Jesuit University battled to a 1-1 tie in WVIAC men's soccer action at Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday. Shepherd scored at the 68:52 mark when Dan Merold scored on a feed from Guilherme Fonseca. The Cardinals tied the game at the 71:53 mark when Peter D'Amore scored with an assist from Jared Hooks. Baboucarr Njie had 10 saves in goal for the Rams, while Brandon Regan recorded three saves for Wheeling Jesuit. Shepherd moves to 7-4-3, 2-0-2 in WVIAC play, while Wheeling Jesuit is now 5-5-3, 2-1-3. The Rams return to action next Saturday when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a noon contest. |
