RAMS BLANK WHEELING JESUIT, 3-0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University blanked Wheeling Jesuit University, 3-0, in WVIAC men's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon.

Shepherd took a 2-0 lead into the break on goals by junior forward Nathan Tobler (Lucketts, VA/Loudoun County HS) and junior midfielder Roberto Azevedo (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Montgomery College). Tobler's goal was assisted by senior defender Ian Newman (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion College), while Azevedo's tally was assisted by freshman forward Emmanuel Elomobor (Silver Spring, MD/ Springbrook HS) and freshman midfielder Nahome Mazengia (Silver Spring, MD/Montgomery Blair HS).

Shepherd's final goal came from senior defender Sean Holland (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly HS) with assists coming from freshman midfielder Guilherme Fonseca (Guaruja, Brazil/Objetivo School) and senior forward Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/Liberty HS).

Senior Patrick Quinn (Germantown, MD/Good Counsel HS) had five saves in goal for the Rams

Shepherd improves to 7-1-1, 1-1-0 in conference play, while Wheeling falls to 2-6-0, 0-2-0. The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to Columbia Union for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
