WHEELING JESUIT DOWNS SHEPHERD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. --Leon Brown scored a goal and assisted on another to lead No. 15-ranked Wheeling Jesuit University to 3-0 win over Shepherd College in men's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Brown scored an unassisted tally at the 3:00 mark to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Alex Byrum scored on a feed from Jeff Pniewski at the 54:03 mark to give Wheeling Jesuit a 2-0 lead.

Alek Marinenko scored a Brown assist at the 57:21 mark to complete the scoring.

Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/ Woodbridge HS) registered three saves, while Wheeling Jesuit keeper Chris Regan recorded a shutout without any saves.

Shepherd falls to 6-7-2, 0-3-1 in WVIAC play, while Wheeling Jesuit improves to 10-1-2, 3-0-1. The Rams return to action Tuesday when they host Wilmington for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
