WHEELING, W.Va. --Joel Bailey scored a pair of goals to lead Wheeling Jesuit University to a 3-1 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC men's soccer action on Thursday afternoon.
Shepherd grabbed a 1-0 lead when Michael Watson scored on an assist from Jose Ventura at the 40:18 mark.
Bailey tied the game at 1-1 at the 54:17 mark on a feed from Mike Curtis. Curtis gave the Cardinals a 2-1 at the 72:11 mark with an assist from Leon Brown. Bailey added an unassisted insurance goal at the 85:28 mark.
Freshman Robert Pence (Woodbridge/Woodbridge, VA) recorded 10 saves in goal for the Rams, while Johan Marin registered seven saves for Wheeling.
Shepherd falls to to 8-4, 1-2 in WVIAC action, while Wheeling Jesuit improves to 8-5, 3-2.
The Rams return to action next Tuesday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m.
