21ST-RANKED SHEPHERD DOWNS UPJ, 2-0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Senior forward Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/Liberty HS) and freshman forward Emmanuel Elomobor (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) each scored goals to lead 21st-ranked Shepherd University to a 2-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.

Ritchie scored on an assist from freshman midfielder Nahome Mazengia (Silver Spring, MD/Blair HS) at the 35:40 mark to give the Rams a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

The Rams added an insurance goal by Elomobor at the 68:47 mark on a feed from junior forward Nathan Tobler Lucketts, VA/Loudoun County HS).

Senior goalkeepers Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge HS) and Pat Quinn (Germantown, MD/Good Counsel HS) combined for three saves for the Rams in the shutout effort. Steve Weimer recorded seven saves for the Mountain Cats.

Shepherd improves to 16-2-1, while Pitt-Johnstown falls to 4-13-1. The Rams, top seed in the WVIAC Tournament, will host Ohio Valley at home on Tuesday at a time to be determined.
