SHEPHERD BLANKS UPJ, 5-0

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Senior forward Jamie Richie (Remington, VA/Liberty HS) scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead 17th-ranked Shepherd University to a 5-0 win over host University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown in men's soccer action at UPJ on Thursday afternoon.

Junior forward Richard Smith (Gaithersburg, MD/Magruder HS) and junior forward Nathan Tobler (Lucketts, VA/Loudoun County HS) also added goals and the Rams also scored on an own goal.

Senior netminder Patrick Quinn (Germantown, MD/Good Counsel HS) recorded three saves in a shutout effort for the Rams, Mike Bordogna had five saves for the Mountain Cats.

Shepherd outshot the Mountain Cats, 13-5, and held a 9-to-0 corner kick advantage.

Shepherd improves to 5-0-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Davis & Elkins for a 3:00 p.m. WVIAC contest.
