Jamie Ritchie scored a pair of goals in Shepherd's 2-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown.

RAMS DOWN UPJ, 2-0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Junior forward Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/Liberty HS) scored a pair of goals to lead Shepherd University to a 2-0 win over University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown at Shepherd on Thursday afternoon.

Ritchie scored on a header off a pass from sophomore defender Desmond Harris (Montgomery Village, MD/Watkins Mill HS) at the 39:00 mark to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.

Ritchie added an insurance goal at the 69:00 mark on assists from sophomore forward Richard Smith (Gaithersburg, MD/Magruder HS) and freshman midfielder Allie Basma (Frederick, MD/ Thomas Johnson HS/ Frederick CC).

Shepherd got three saves in goal in a shutout performance from junior keeper Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge HS). Steve Weimer had six saves for the Mountain Cats.

Shepherd improves to 4-3-3 on the season, while Pitt-Johnstown drops to 3-6. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Ohio Valley at 1:00 p.m.
