SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Salif Gueye scored the game's only goal to lift UDC to a 1-0 win over Shepherd College in men's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Gueye's game-winning unassisted goal came at the 35:00 mark of the first stanza. UDC held a 18-11 shot advantage for the game and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Sophomore Pat Quinn (Good Counsel/Germantown, MD) recorded 16 saves in goal for the Rams, while Ali Ali registered five saves for the Firebirds.
Shepherd, ranked ninth in the Great Lakes Region this week, falls to 8-3, while UDC, the fourth-ranked team in the region, improves to 7-4-2.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
