SHEPHERD POSTS 3-2-1 MARK IN SPRING SEASON

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- The Shepherd University men's soccer team posted a 3-2-1 mark during the 2005 spring season. Below are scoring recaps from each contest.

Shepherd 1 PGCC 0

The game's only score came on a goal by Jamie Ritchie assisted by Donald Fon in the 55th minute.

Northern Virginia Royals 2 Shepherd 1

Northern Virginia Royals scored goals at the 30th minute and 55th minute. Shepherd's goal came at the 40th minute when Dan Merold scored on an assist by Donald Fon.

Howard 1 Shepherd 0

Division I Howard won the contest with a goal in the 49th minute.

Shepherd 1 Shippensburg 1

Richard Smith's unassisted tally in the 51st minute earned Shepherd a 1-1 tie with Shippensburg.

Shepherd 2 Frostburg 1

Jamie Ritchie scored at the 46th minute on an assist from Alie Basma and Basma added the game-winner at the 57th minute on a feed from Bernard Walters. Frostburg's lone tally came in the 34th minute.

Shepherd 4 Alumni 1

Yakob Tezerawork scored at the 10 minute mark on an assist from Richard Smith. Donald Fon scored on a feed from Smith at the 22nd minute. Dan Merold tallied a goal at the 41st minute on a Desmond Harris feed, while Nathan Tobler scored at the 70th minute on an assist from JJ Flores. Kris Goodwin (Class of 2001) scored for the Alumni at the 28th minute.
