SALEM USES PENALTY KICKS TO ADVANCE SALEM, W.Va. --Salem International eliminated Shepherd College in first round action of the WVIAC Men's Soccer Tournament at Salem on Tuesday. The two teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of double overtime. The Tigers outscored Shepherd, 4-2, on penalty kicks to advance. No details of the contest were available. Shepherd completes its season with a 9-8-3 record as the game is officially ruled a tie. The nine wins in a season tie for the second most in program history (1994, 1996). |
