![]() RAMS SHOCK SHIPPENSBURG SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/ Liberty HS) scored three goals and assisted on two others to help lift Shepherd College to a 5-2 win over No. 21-ranked Shippensburg University in men's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Thursday afternoon. The victory is the first over a ranked opponent in program history. Ritchie started the scoring on an unassisted tally at the 4:03 mark. Shippensburg answered back at the 30:42 mark on a goal by Sean Feeley on an assist from Geoffrey Bloes. The Red Raiders took a 2-1 lead when Damon Kegerise scored on a feed from Kevin Feeley at the 38:00 mark. Shepherd got another unassisted goal from Ritchie at the 39:00 mark to tie the game at 2-2. Mike Watson (Springfield, VA/ West Springfield, VA) gave Shepherd a 3-2 halftime advantage when he scored on an assist from Ritchie at the 44:21 mark. The Rams added two second half goals when Ian Newman (Kingston, Jamaica) scored off a Ritchie feed at the 65:30 mark and Ritchie earned the hat trick on an assist from Watson at the 68:10 mark. Ram goalie Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge HS) recorded 10 saves, while Shippensburg keeper Bob McComas had three. Shepherd improves to 5-3-2, while Shippensburg falls to 7-3-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Salem International for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
