SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Freshman forward Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/Liberty) scored a career-high three goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift Shepherd College to a 4-3 win over Shippensburg University in men's soccer action at Shippensburg on Thursday afternoon.
Shepherd grabbed a 1-0 lead on a goal from Pedro Prudencio at the 26:48 mark.
Shippensburg tied the score at 1-1 when Andy Jennings scored with help from Jake Deininger and Adam Borwick at the 40:54 mark.
Shepherd took a 2-1 lead into the intermission when Ritchie scored his first goal at the 41:00 mark.
Shippensburg rallied for a 3-2 lead in the second half behind Tony Simonetti's goal the the 48:00 mark and another Jennings goal at the 67:49 mark.
Ritchie tied the game at 3-3 at the 81:57 mark and added the winning goal at the 92:10 mark.
Sophomore Pat Quinn (Germantown, MD/Good Counsel) recorded four saves in goal for the Rams, while Bill Davis registered two saves for the Red Raiders.
Shepherd improves to 7-2, while Shippensburg drops to 7-4-1.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Kutztown University at 1:00 p.m.
