SHEPHERD AND SHENANDOAH BATTLE TO 2-2 TIE

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Shepherd College and Shenandoah University battled to a 2-2 tie in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Thursday afternoon.

Shenandoah took a 1-0 lead at the 14:32 mark on an unassisted goal by Mihailo Prelavic.

Shepherd tied the game at 1-1 when Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/ Liberty HS) scored on assists from Mike Watson (Springfield, VA/West Springfield HS) and Jon Goetz (KIngsville, MD/Perry Hall HS) at the 20:00 mark.

Ritchie gave Shepherd a 2-1 lead at the 67:00 mark on a header off a Goetz corner kick.

Shenabndoah tied the game at the 87:00 mark when Stefan Hasson scored on a feed from Manuel Barcia.

The teams were set for overtime, but the contest was called due to lightning.

Shepherd goalie Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA)/Woodbridge HS) and Shenandoah keeper Kyle Hodges each recorded one save.

Shepherd moves to 3-2-2, while Shenanadoah is now 2-2-2. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Gannon for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
