SHEPHERD MEN'S SOCCER DENIED NCAA II PLAYOFF BERTH INDIANAPOLIS -- The Shepherd University men's soccer team was not selected today as one of the three teams representing the Appalachian Region in NCAA Division II men's soccer championships. Top-seeded Carson-Newman (18-1-1) drew a first round bye and will await the winner of Thursday's contest between second-seeded Catawba (14-5-1) and third-seeded Tusculum (11-6-1). The regional championship game will take place on Saturday at Carson-Newman. Shepherd completes its finest season ever with a 17-2-2 overall mark. The Rams had more victories than 21 of the 24 teams selected to the Division II championship field. |
