SHEPHERD MEN BLANK NEWBERRY, 1-0 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Emmanuel Elomobor's (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) goal at the 65:00 minute mark lifted Shepherd to a Shepherd 1-0 win over Newberry in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon.
Elomobor scored the game-winner on assists from Roberto Azevedo (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Montgomery College) and Leighton Meredith (Clarendon, Jamaica/Glenmuir). Freshman netminder Anthony Pino (Centreville, MD/Queen Annes) had five saves in a shutout effort for the Rams. Will Dieterich had four saves for Newberry. Shepherd improves to 1-1-1 on the season, while Newberry falls to 2-1-0. The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Seton Hill for a 1 p.m. contest. |
