MARSHALL DEFEATS SHEPHERD HUNTINGTON, WV -- Michael McDonald scored two goals to lead Marshall University to a 3-0 win over Shepherd College in men's soccer action on Sunday. McDonald scored the game's first goal on an assist from Michael Bourassa at the 41:15 mark to give the Thundering Herd a 1-0 lead at halftime. Salvador Djeukeng's unassisted goal at the 47:38 mark gave Marshall a 2-0 advantage. McDonald completed the scoring on an assist from Kirk Gibson at the 71:08 mark. Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/ Woodbridge HS) recorded 10 saves in goal for the Rams, while Chris McKinney and Gregory Terhune had one save each for Marshall. Shepherd falls to 5-5-2 on the year. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Alderson-Broaddus for a 1:30 p.m. conference match.
