WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Shepherd University men's soccer team bounced back this weekend when they downed Howard University, 2-1, in Washington, D.C.

The Bison took an early lead, but the Rams rallied and tied the game when Emmanuel Elomobor scored off an assist from Guilherme Fonseca's free kick.

The Rams then took the lead late in the first half when Fonseca scored a direct free kick from 20 yards out.

Roberto Azevedo recorded five saves in goal for the Rams, including a last minute diving save as Howard pressed for the tying goal.

"The guys really worked hard today and showed a lot of composure after we went down a goal early in the game," said head coach Joseph Okoh. "It (the win) was a good result for our program."

The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Georgetown University Hoyas at 4:00 p.m. The Rams close out the spring season with the annual alumni game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
