ELOMOBOR LEADS SHEPHERD PAST GALLAUDET

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Freshman forward Emmanuel Elomobor (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) recorded a hat trick to lead 21st-ranked Shepherd University to a 7-0 win over Gallaudet University in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Thursday afternoon.

Elomobor scored all three of his goals in the first half. Junior forward Nathan Tobler (Lucketts, VA/Loudoun County HS) added a tally as the Rams took a 4-0 lead into the break.

Senior forward Donald Fon (Silver Spring, MD/Montgomery Blair HS) and junior midfielder Roberto Azevedo (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Montgomery College) each added single goals in the second half. Shepherd's other score came on an own goal.

Freshman midfielder Guilherme Fonseca (Guaraja, Brazil/Objetivo School) recorded a team-high three assists. Azevedo, junior defender Bernard Walters (Waterford, Jamaica/Camperdown and senior forward Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/Liberty HS) also added assists.

Senior goalkeepers Patrick Quinn (Germantown, MD/Good Counsel HS) and Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge HS) combined for three saves in a shutout effort for the Rams. Daniel Wathen posted eight saves for the Bison.

Shepherd improves to 13-2-1, while Gallaudet falls to 1-14-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Alderson-Broaddus for a 3:00 p.m. conference game.

Notes: Head coach Joseph Okoh earned his 50th win at Shepherd and passed former coach Mike Doran as the program's all-time leader in coaching wins.
