SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. --The Shepherd College men's soccer team kicked off the 2003 spring campaign with an impressive 3-0 win over Frostburg State University.
The Rams opened the scoring at the 15 minute mark on a header by Jamie Ritchie (Liberty/Remington, VA) with an assist from Pedro Prudencio (Robert E. Lee/Springfield, VA). The Rams increased their lead to 2-0 at the 51:00 mark on a goal by Donald Fon (Montgomery Blair/Silver Spring, MD) off a feed from Prudencio. Dan Merold (Oakton/Oak Hill, VA) closed out the scoring with a goal at the 58:00 mark on an assist from Chad Guthrie (Centreville/Centreville, VA).
Shepherd goalie Robert Pence (Woodbridge/Woodbridge, VA) recorded a shutout with eight saves for the Rams.The Rams return to action on April 12 they host McDaniel at 12:00 p.m.
