SHEPHERD FALLS TO EASTERN MENNONITE, 3-1

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Shepherd University dropped a 3-1 decision to Eastern Mennonite in men's soccer action at Ram Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Shepherd took a 1-0 lead at the 26:00 mark when sophomore forward Richard Smith (Gaithersburg, MD/Magruder HS) scored on a penalty kick.

The Royals tied the game at 1-1 when senior forward Eric Blosser scored on a feed from Jason Good at the 31:00 mark.

Blosser gave Eastern Mennonite a 2-1 lead when he scored at the 77:00 mark on an assist from freshman forward Ryan Bennett. Freshman forward Adam Wildeson added an insurance goal for the Royals at the 85:00 mark with dual assists coming from Blosser and freshman forward Jared Byler.

Shepherd got nine saves in goal from junior keeper Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge HS).

Shepherd falls to 2-1-1 on the season, while Eastern Mennonite improves to 2-1. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Marymount at 4:00 p.m.
