RAMS HANDLE COLUMBIA UNION

TAKOMA PARK, MD -- Shepherd University handed Columbia Union College a 10-1 defeat in men's soccer action at Columbia Union on Sunday.

Junior forward Richard Smith (Gaithersburg, MD/Magruder HS), freshman midfielder Guilherme Fonseca (Guaruja, Brazil/Objetivo School), and junior midfielder/forward Adam Sperry (Charles Town, WV/Jefferson HS) each had a pair of goals to lead the Ram attack. Senior forward Jamie Ritchie (Remington, VA/Liberty HS) added a goal and a team-high four assists, while freshman midfielder Nahome Mazengia (Silver Spring, MD/Montgomery Blair HS) and senior midfielder/forward Donald Fon (Silver Spring, MD/Montgomery Blair HS) each added goals.

Se Eun Park scored the lone goal for the Pioneers late in the second half.

Senior Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA/ Woodbridge HS) and junior Ben Chase (Owings, MD/Northern HS) combined for one save while surrendering only one goal. Andrew Taber had six saves for Columbia Union.

Shepherd improves to 8-1-1, while Columbia Union falls to 1-8. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Eastern Mennonite for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
