SHEPHERD, COLUMBIA UNION BATTLE TO 1-1 TIE

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University and Columbia Union College battled to a 1-1 tie in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.

Shepherd took a 1-0 lead at the 15:00 mark when freshman forward Gregory Khan (Mt. Pleasant, Tobago/Bertille St. Clair) scored on assists from senior defender Desmond Harris (Gaithersburg, MD/Watkins Mill) and freshman defender/midfielder Jeff Sandusky (Brookeville, MD/Sherwood).

The Pioneers tied the game at 1-1 at the 26:00 mark when Se Eun Park scored on a feed from Nathaniel Oyefeso.

Sophomore netminder Baboucarr Njie (Banjul, The Gambia/Marina International School) had one save for the Rams.

The Rams had a 14-2 shot advantage and had 12 corner kicks while Columbia Union managed only two.

Shepherd moves to 0-1-1 on the season, while Columbia Union opens play at 0-0-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Newberry for a 2 p.m. contest.
